Monday Nights at St. Mary’s

There is a programme of different opportunities for people to be part of:

A meditation group meets each month for quiet contemplation, in the chapel, 7.30pm. See the Parish notes for the date.

The Reading group also meets on Monday evening monthly, and will read, discuss and review a variety of books: sometimes novels or biographies, sometimes poetry and sometimes books on a particular aspect of our faith, for example lent books, books about prayer etc., 7.30pm.

The Parish Prayer group meets once a month in the Chapel, for an extended eucharist in which prayers of intercession include individual petitions and particular concerns for the Parish, 7.30pm.

The Forum Group meets in the Vestry Hall and is an opportunity to discuss issues of ethical or topical concern. Very often the speaker will introduce the topic and we have looked at such issues as trade justice, medical ethics, the connection between religion and politics.
