SUMMARY:Where There is Light
DESCRIPTION:‘Where There is Light’ raises questions about where we find light in our lives\, in ourselves\, in others and in the world around us. With a soundscape showcasing interviews captured during lockdown in 2020\, the installation aims to bring people together and encourage a sense of connection and hope. We hope to rebuild\, reconnect and transform how communities connect in times where isolation and loneliness have impacted many people. \nThe exhibition runs from the 15th to the 24th October. Tickets are FREE and can be booked online in 30 minute slots throughout each day. \n•	Friday 15th October: 9.00am – 12.00pm\n•	Monday – Saturday (except Wednesday): 9.00am–12.00pm & 7pm–9pm\n•	Wednesday: 9.00am–12.00pm only\n•	Sunday: 3.00pm–8.00pm \nOn the evening of the 19th October\, experience an alternative soundscape as we welcome Brian Moles (St Mary’s Church’s Director of Music) to the organ console\, to perform improvisations based on the narrative of asylum seekers and refugees from around the country. \nSquidsoup’s artwork provides a truly poignant and immersive sensory experience to visitors\, aiming to raise awareness of the crucial work of organisations that support asylum seekers and refugees across the country. Visitors to ‘Where There is Light’ are welcomed to experience the vast nave of our church transformed into an environment where virtual and physical worlds coincide. All are encouraged to become part of the artwork as the light and sound changes and consider the incredible resilience of those whose stories are featured in the soundscape. \nBook your FREE ticket here. \n
