Nativity Service at St Faith’s
The children retell the Story of Christmas, with carols and candlelight. The service is followed by tea and cakes. Children who wish to take part in the drama should arrive by 3.30pm to get into their costumes.

For the Love of Portsmouth
An open day at St Mary’s Church to highlight the impact of climate change on the things we cherish. Organised and promoted by St Mary’s Church and Portsmouth Christian Aid Action Group. There will be coffee, refreshments, family-friendly activities, reflections and displays. The tower will be open for the public to climb and enjoy the views. Join us as we show our love for our city and stand up for our joint future.

Parish Mass at St Mary’s
There is a Mass at St Mary’s for the whole Parish this Sunday to say farewell to Wendy-May as she takes up her curacy in Fareham. There will be no mass at St Faith’s nor at St Wilfrid’s. At noon there is The Great Get Together Picnic in Kingston Rec and celebration of the new play area. It starts with a procession from the Fratton Community Centre.

Mandela 100 Food and Cultural Event at St Mary’s
African Women’s Forum is hosting this Community Picnic, diverse food, and African cultural performances at St Mary’s in the Church yard. The event features diverse food, African songs, performers and drummers in celebration of Nelson Mandela’s centenary. mandela100.co.uk. Bring your own food or buy food from across the globe. This event will end at 2pm.

Choir Open Evening for Young People
An opportunity for interested young people to come and see what it is like to be in the Choir at St Mary’s, hear about what is involved and meet other young choristers.
Harvest Services at all Three Churches
A chance to thank God for the gifts of creation and to share those gifts with others and hosting the Anglican Society for the Welfare of Animals for Animal Welfare Sunday. St Mary’s Guest Preacher: Revd Dr Helen Hall. Service starts at 10am at St Mary’s. Service starts 9:30am at St Wilfrid’s and St Faith’s.

The Oaker’s Tale – Book Launch at St Mary’s
Join us on the afternoon of Saturday 24 November at 2.30pm for the book launch of ‘The Oakers’ Tale’ written by our very own Helen Evans. Set in Spring, this is the first in a collection of four seasonal books – telling the tales of Treebie adventures, with beautiful illustrations, story related activities and produced in accordance with dyslexia friendly guidelines. Fratton Big Local Festival of Lights at St Mary’s
A procession of lanterns and light in Fratton ending with entertainment in the Church, including a Community Neon Art Installation at the Church. Fratton Big Local helping Fratton to shine. Due to weather conditions meet in St Mary’s Churchyard at 6pm for a procession around the Churchyard.

A morning exploring the story of the star that appeared over the stable where Jesus was born and the visit of the 3 wise kings who sought him out – with art, craft, music and a lunch for all the family. A Caribbean Party & Pancake Races at St Mary’s
A celebration for Shrove Tuesday with Caribbean food, music and dancing and pancake races. A fun night for all ages. Starts with a short act of worship at 7pm, food at 7.30pm, music 8-10pm.
