Katrina Nimmo (Soprano) at St Mary’s
A free concert with retiring collection in aid of the Music Foundation given by Katrina Nimmo Soprano, accompanied by Brian Moles. Katrina’s program will include : Je veux vivre – Gounod, Romeo et Juliette. Drei Ellensgesaenger – Schubert. Beechwood Opera present ‘Mozart a Return to Opera’ at St Mary’s
Mozart’s obsession with opera pervades all his mature works – especially those included in this concert. From the characterful opposition of piano, winds, and strings in his Piano Concerto no.22 it is clear that, having written just one opera in the past four years, something was brewing. This probably won’t come as a huge surprise but the Royal Marines have decided to postpone their concert next week, scheduled for St. Mary’s Church on Thursday 26 March 2020. This is a postponement rather than a cancellation. At some point they plan to perform this concert.
